Cody Clarke earns rank of Eagle Scout
CANAAN -- Cody Clarke, of Canaan, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. A member of Canaan Troop 403 since 2004, Clarke, 18, has held many positions within the troop; assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, quartermaster, and den chief.

Rawson completes WPI research project
WORCESTER, Mass. -- Briana Rawson of Fairfield, a junior majoring in biology at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in Melbourne, Australia. The project was titled "Examining Parents' Responses to CSIRO Holiday Science Activities."

MORNING SENTINEL GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Pelletier led Messalonskee tourney run
The offseason wasn't what Megan Pelletier was hoping for. But the actual season was her best so far. Pelletier was the center of a controversy when she transferred from Winslow to Messalonskee last summer before her junior year. She shook off all of that and led the Eagles from the No. 8 seed to the Eastern A championship game.
