WATERVILLE — A 19-year-old man was reportedly assaulted while walking home Monday evening from the Winslow Family Fourth of July fireworks.
But the man is not cooperating with police and so no charges have been filed, said Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey of the Waterville Police Department.
According to Rumsey, when police arrived just after 11 p.m. on Veteran Court in Waterville, they located a man with a bloody nose and cuts on his face.
“He refused to cooperate with us about what happened,” Rumsey said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Inland Hospital in Waterville.
Rumsey said a friend of the victim was not sure exactly where the assault took place.
“We questioned other people in the area but were not able to ascertain where it happened,” Rumsey said. “It’s a closed case unless he calls for help.”
