MOUNT VERNON — The town has a full Board of Selectmen following the election of Malcolm Hardy on Tuesday.

Hardy, who ran unopposed for the two years left in a term vacated by Roger Pelton, received 45 out of 46 votes in the special election. One ballot was left blank.

Having three selectmen will allow the town to tackle some business that has been on hold since Pelton and Russell Libby left the board, Selectman Clyde Dyar said.

Bruce Inch, who had previously served on the board, recently was sworn in to a new term as selectman, replacing Libby whose term had expired.
