FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Children’s Task Force seeks help from knitters to make purple baby caps for a new campaign to prevent shaken baby syndrome and infant abuse. Knitted or crocheted caps from 5 to 50 will be accepted. Caps will be collected until the end of October and distributed to infants in November.
By knitting caps, participants will help educate parents about the “Period of Purple Crying,” a time when babies cry more than any other time.
Please knit and mail caps, no later than Oct. 26, to: Stephanie Harmon, Franklin County Children’s Task Force, 113 Church St., Farmington, ME 04938
