The Kennebec Valley Council of Governments, in conjunction with the town of Winslow, will host a Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 15 at the Winslow Public Works facility, 135 Halifax St.

The event is open to residents of Belgrade, Benton, China, Clinton, Fairfield, Oakland, Sidney, Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow.

In addition to providing disposal opportunities for unwanted chemicals such as pesticides, old fuels, oil paint and other hazardous household products, residents can also dispose of TVs, computers and prescription medication at the event.
