YOKE’S ON HIM: Gerry Mahoney, left, helps Hall-Dale sixth-grader Jordan Perry put an 18th century bucket yoke over his shoulders recently on the porch of the Vaughan Homestead in Hallowell. Students and parents from the Hall-Dale sixth grade participated in the annual tour at the Homestead that was built in 1794 and has been in the same family for more than 200 years.  Children learned about the biology, geology and forestry of Vaughan Woods from community experts as well as the history from Mahoney.  The yoke was used for water buckets, Mahoney said.
