AUGUSTA — The LURC Reform Commission, established by the Legislature to recommend possible reforms to the Land Use Regulation Commission, will hold its next work session today in Ashland with two public listening sessions.
The meeting’s agenda also includes a discussion with Paul Underwood, Aroostook County commissioner.
The 13-member commission has held two meetings. The Reform Commission must meet with the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry no later than Oct. 28 for an update on its progress; complete its work by Dec. 15; and submit its final report and recommendations no later than Jan. 4, 2012.
Future meetings are still to be scheduled, in Calais, Greenville and a location to be announced.

Gardiner Library to begin offering story time
GARDINER — The Gardiner Public Library will offer Saturday morning story time the first Saturday of each month, beginning Nov. 5, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Staff will feature new books and everyone is welcome to attend. Stories will be geared to children 3 and older.
