AUBURN — An Androscoggin County jury has rejected a former jail guard’s claim that her bosses retaliated against her after she complained about a plan to move an abusive supervisor to cover her shift.

The jury on Thursday ruled in favor of the county in the lawsuit brought by Lisa Levesque of Buckfield.

She said she did not want the person in question as her supervisor because he had harassed her in the past.

Levesque alleged that Sheriff Guy Desjardins and his second-in-command retaliated against her after the complaints, including disciplining her for things that others were not cited for and then transferring her.

The county’s lawyer told The Sun Journal that the moves had nothing to do with retaliation.

Levesque’s lawyer says he was “stunned’ by the verdict.
