Local college soccer and field hockey teams will compete this weekend in conference championship tournaments. The North Atlantic Conference and the New England Small College Athletic Conference will hold tournaments starting today.

The winter storm scheduled to hit today has caused some schedule changes. Locally, the Thomas men’s soccer team’s quarterfinal game against Maine Maritime Academy was moved from Sunday to today. The Terriers now will host MMA at 1 p.m. today in Waterville.

In NAC quarterfinal soccer games today, the University of Maine at Farmington men will host New England College at 2 p.m., the No. 8 Thomas women travel to play No. 1 Castleton at 4:30 p.m., and the No. 6 UM-Farmington women play at No. 3 Husson at 5 p.m. In the NESCAC soccer quarterfinals, the No. 8 Colby men play at No. 1 Amherst at 2:30 p.m., the No. 7 Colby women play at No. 2 Middlbury at noon. In NAC field hockey quarterfinal action No. 6 Thomas plays at No. 3 New England College at 1 p.m. and No. 4 UMF hosts No. 5 Husson at noon.

The Colby women’s soccer team (7-6-1, 3-6-1) earned a win in its regular-season finale to clinch the No. 7 spot. The Mules are led by Nikki Pickering, who has four goals and one assist. The Mules defense has allowed just two goals in its past three games.

The Colby men (7-6-1, 3-6-1), meanwhile, make their third straight trip to the conference tournament after beating Bates 3-2. The Mules, led by Eric Barthold (5 goals, 1 assist) are 3-3-0 on the road this season, including 2-3-0 on the road in conference games.

The UMF women’s soccer team (5-9-3, 4-4-1) is playing Husson in the conference tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons. The Beavers are led by Alida Peake, who has a team-best five goals this season. Kayla Tuttle of Waterville also has three goals and two assists for UMF this season.

The UMF men (8-7-0, 6-3-0) are led by Jordan Hale, who has nine goals and five assists, while Sean Raph of Waterville has three goals.

The UMF field hockey team finished 8-7-0, 6-3-0 in the conferece and hosts two-time defending conference champion Husson. The Beavers are led by Lily Barry, who has 10 goals this season. Kaitlyn Bullen of Farmington has added seven goals, and Gardiner graduate Kashley Weymouth has a team-best seven assists.

The Thomas field hockey team finished 6-11-0 overall and 4-5-0 in the conference. Kristin Masessa and Brittany Moore each had six goals for the Terriers, while Ali Kriegel had five goals and three assists.

The Thomas men’s soccer team went 6-2-0 to end the season and finished 10-6-0, 5-4-0 in the conference. The defending conference champions are led by Michael Hand, who finished the regular season with 13 goals and two assists.

The Thomas women, meanwhile, finished 3-13-0 overall, 3-6-0 in the conference. Mary Grace Morris and Arian Kumlangngam led the Terriers with three goals and an assist.
