Officer didn’t have to shoot Crowley-Smilek
He didn't have to shoot him! Justin Crowley-Smilek was a troubled young 28-year-old veteran. It is easy to second guess the actions of the police officer, but I wonder if he could have been disabled with a shot to the knee or with a taser. What a waste of such a young life. RIP Justin. God bless your family, we feel your pain.

When Kori Dionne became the girls soccer coach at Nokomis four seasons ago, Megan Perry, Emiliee Reynolds and Brynn Cardozo were freshmen. Four years later, the Warriors have made two trips to the Eastern B tournament and earned eight wins in three consecutive seasons. In 2011, the Warriors went 8-5-2, losing in the Eastern B prelims.
