People check out the LL Bean Bootmobile after it arrives at L.L. Bean’s flagship store in Freeport this morning. The 13-foot-high, 20-foot-long vehicle is built over the body of a Ford F-250 diesel pickup truck. It was made to kick off the company’s 100th anniversary celebration. The Bootmobile’s next stop is New York City, where it will appear in Times Square from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday. After that, it embarks on a tour of major U.S. cities. Throughout 2012 the Bootmobile will surprise people in various locations throughout the country.
