Kennebec County District Attorney Evert Fowle of Vassalboro, who has been nominated by Gov. Paul LePage to be a district court judge, earned a unanimous vote of approval today from the Legislature’s Judiciary Committee.

More than 10 people testified in support of Fowle during an afternoon confirmation hearing, while two testified in opposition. His nomination now goes to the state Senate for consideration.

While speaking in favor of Fowle, LePage attorney Dan Billings said the only fault he could find with Fowle is that he is a Democrat.
