PORTLAND — Time Warner Cable is completing analog-to-digital conversion in its central Maine market.

The remaining analog channels on Time Warner’s lineup will be switched to the all-digital format in 17 communities, including Lewiston, Auburn and Norway, early today.

The all-digital conversion means customers in the affected communities will need a digital adapter or digital set-top box in order to continue to receive their TV programming. This includes shows offered by local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS affiliates, including Sunday’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.

A Time Warner official says most of its customers have already secured their digital adapters and are ready for the transition to all-digital. Those who haven’t will need to pick up and install a digital adapter.
