JACKMAN — About 27 voters attended the annual Town Meeting on Thursday to approve the 2012 budget, which is a 2 percent decrease from the 2011 budget.

The total budget of $1,140,374 is $24,500 less than last year’s. The amount from taxation dropped about $26,500.

All articles were approved in the meeting at Forest Hills Consolidated School, which lasted about an hour and 15 minutes, said Town Manager Kathleen MacKenzie.

Residents approved $5,000 for fireworks, of which $3,725 will come from taxation. The show is scheduled for July 4 with a rain date of July 7.

Linda Griffin will continue being a school board member. She received 76 votes in elections on Wednesday. Deborah Petrin received 40 votes.
