BELGRADE — Nothing suspicious was found inside Belgrade Central School after a bomb threat on Friday led to an evacuation of the school’s 350 students, police said.

Maine State Police trooper Diane Vance said Saturday that several officers and two dogs searched the school.

Police were called about the threat 12:30 p.m. Friday by school Principal Catherine Gordon.

“There was a message written on a wall in a bathroom,” Vance said.

Students were brought by bus to the Belgrade Community Center for All Seasons on Route 27, where the parents picked them up.The Regional School Unit 18 superintendent’s office said the children were all fine.

Vance said police left the school about 3:30 and planned to return to the school Monday to continue investigating.
