FARMINGTON — Healthy Community Coalition, in collaboration with its Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition and the Federal Government’s Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Prevention of Underage Drinking, will sponsor a community meeting called Understanding and Addressing the Rising Problem of Underage Drinking. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wilton’s Academy Hill School.

The meeting can educate parents, teachers, officials, youth and other community members about the impact underage drinking has on the community and strategies that can be implemented in the community to raise awareness and address the issue.

Keynote speaker Lee Anne Dodge, assistant director of Student Life and coordinator of Substance Abuse Prevention and Wellness at the University of Southern Maine, has worked with communities statewide addressing youth alcohol and tobacco use.
