Duygu Yildirim dances in the State House’s Hall of Flags on Tuesday afternoon in Augusta. She and her husband Nadir Yildirim, from Turkey, performed as part of the Turkish Cultural Day events that included speeches, displays and a buffet of Turkish foods. Gov. Paul LePage joined the Council of Turkic American Association President, Furkan Kosar, the president of Marmara Spring Businessmen Associations and the president of Turkish Cultural Center of Maine to mark the occasion. LePage also issued a proclamation to honor Turkish Cultural Day.
