AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley Humane Society will accept poster submissions for their second annual art contest, held in conjunction with the Paws in the Park and the 19th annual Mutt Strut on May 20 at the Buker Community Center.
Cash prizes for the Adult Category (18 and older) are $300 for first place; $200 for second place; and $100 for third place. Cash prizes for the Youth Category A (ages 11-17) are $150 for first place; $100 for second place; and $50 for third place. Cash prizes for Youth Category B (10 and younger) are $100 for first place; $50 for second; and $25 for third. The People’s Choice Winner will receive $100.
The entry fee is $10 for students and $20 for adults. All submissions must be completed on a poster template and entry form, available at the humane society. Entries must be received by April 15.
