AUGUSTA — City police are looking for a man they say hurled a frozen slush drink at an acquaintance and threatened him with a handgun during a dispute outside a Mount Vernon Avenue convenience store.

Augusta Police Sgt. Christopher Shaw said nobody was hurt in the incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. Thursday outside the J&S Oil convenience store on Mount Vernon Avenue.

Shaw said the men encountered each other at the convenience store and exchanged words, apparently as part of an ongoing dispute over money.

“It looks like one man threw a pink Slushy drink on the other’s vehicle,” Shaw said.

The same man, after throwing the drink, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim of the slushy assault, Shaw said.

A third person, a passenger in the victim’s car, jumped out to confront the man with the handgun, Shaw said. The gun-bearer sped out of the parking lot.

Police converged on the area but were unable to find the slush-slinger.

Shaw said Friday that nobody has been charged in connection with the incident and that police are still investigating.
