WATERVILLE — Spectrum Generations Muskie Community Center will offer two basic computer classes at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, and Friday, April 20. A basic Facebook class will be offered 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 27. Classes are open to the public.

Craft fair in Fairfield seeking vendors
FAIRFIELD — Craft/Everything Fair is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Lawrence Junior High gymnasium. More than 33 vendors will be onhand. Admission is free.
Local UMF students receive Wilson Undergraduate Research Awards
FARMINGTON — Fourteen UMF students were recently named Spring 2012 Michael D. Wilson Research Scholars by the University of Maine at Farmington Undergraduate Research Council. The program recognizes students for their original academic and creative research projects that help them connect classroom learning with real-world experience.
Funds raised for child abuse prevention
WATERVILLE — During the month of March, the Red Barn Food & Restaurant in Augusta partnered with KVCAP’s Family Enrichment Council to raise funds during National Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month held in April.
Clinton Lions Club hosts guest speaker
CLINTON — Tim Caverly of Millinocket was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Clinton Lions Club. Caverly is a former park ranger of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway who retired to write children’s books about his experiences on the Waterway.

Author/photographer publishes bookin support of watershed conservation
Photographer Ann Flewelling of Sedgwick has just released “A Moment of Water: Journey by Maine Watershed” (2012, Threehalf Press). She will launch the book in a program at the Blue Hill Public Library on April 19 at 7 p.m.
