AUGUSTA — Crisis & Counseling Centers held its annual meeting and dinner May 10 at the Senator Inn & Spa, presenting awards and recognizing local organizations and people.

* The 2012 CEO’s Special Recognition Award went to Aroostook Mental Health Center. The award was accepted by Chief Executive Officer Gregory P. Disy.

* The Program of the Year Award went to the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Maine’s Crisis Intervention Team program. NAMI Maine Executive Director Carol Carothers accepted the award.

* The Public Safety Appreciation Award went to the Oakland Police Department. Detective Tracey Frost accepted the award for the department.

* Crisis & Counseling Centers’ Peer Recognition Awards were presented to the following crisis team leaders and senior crisis workers: Alyssa Audie, Lou Atwood, Starr Baxter, Dawn Ego, Kristen Levesque, Shane Mosher, Tim Sullivan, Victoria Townley and Donald Williams and to Mental Health Program Manger Joan Murphy.
