MADISON — Crystal DaCosta of Madison Area Memorial High School was recently named a Discus Award winner for the 2011-12 school year. She was recognized by a judging panel of education professionals for her achievements in the areas of academics, athletics and work.

The Discus Awards is a national program that provides recognition and scholarship opportunities to all-around high school students who excel in three of ten key areas.

DaCosta is also eligible for 2011-12 Discus Awards scholarships.
