RANGELEY — Franklin County Retired Educators met recently and had a potluck lunch provided by members of the church after a business meeting and an informational program.

The program featured two teachers from Rangeley Lakes Regional School who were recipients of the Educators Grant-in-Aid. This program gives money annually to a school system in Franklin County to enhance education.

The kindergarten to second-grade teachers wanted to provide students with an opportunity to meet and interact with a Maine author. By putting the grant with other funding, they were able to have author Lynn Plourde spend two days sharing her books and teaching students some techniques of writing.
