It’s always exciting to be able to pay more in taxes.

It’s my feeling that governments and their offspring should be doing the same as the general population regarding the the economy, and that is to do more with less.

It seems that in this day and age of trillions, the mention of a mere $1.1 million increase in spending would be totally acceptable.

Rosie the Riveter, whose work was cited by Gary Smith, superintendent of schools, was a hardworking taxpayer, working long and hard to produce the materials necessary to defeat the Axis powers. Smith, however, gives the impression that she worked so hard to support the everyday expenses of government.

I believe average taxpayers are tired of getting nickel and dimed to death by governments and their entities, which just cannot learn the hard lessons

When I attended school, the class size was 30-35 kids. That may seem a lot by today’s standards, but it worked and produced quality students. My business has been hurt by the slack construction industry, but I would love to be able to simply raise my prices to maintain my income level.

So I urge voters on election day to color outside the lines and reject the RSU 18 budget increase.
