AUGUSTA — The Children’s Discovery Museum has announced its summer camp schedule.

Camps are:

* Building/Lego, June 25-29, ages 6-8.

* Crazy Art, July 9-13, ages 3-6.

* Pirate, Ahoy Matey!, July 16-20, ages 6-8.

* Fun, Food and Fitness, July 23-27, ages 3-5.

* (H20) Water, July 30-Aug. 3, ages 6-8.

* World Exploration, Aug. 6-10, ages 3-5.

* Princess and Knights, Aug. 13-17, ages 6-8.

* and Science Discovery, Aug. 20-24, ages 3-5.

All camps run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Campers must be potty trained. Camps will be lead by teachers Jennifer LaPierre and Gina Palumbo.

The cost is $90 for members and $100 for non-members. Discounts for siblings and multiple camp registration is available. Space is limited.

Summer camp helps children learn

AUGUSTA — The 21st Century Program of the Augusta Boys and Girls Club will offer a summer camp for children entering third-sixth grade.

The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to noon July 2 to July 20 at the Buker Community Center. Students will practice their science and math skills through activities including gardening, cooking, theater and outdoor games.

The cost is $40; scholarships are available for students of the 21st Century program. There will be no camp on July 4. To register, call 623-3273 or email Andrea at [email protected].

History camp is free for students

PORTLAND — The Maine Humanities Council will offer History Camp, a free week-long day camp for seventh-12th grade students interested in history.

“Digging Up the Past: Archaeology and History at Colonial Fort Richmond” will take place from July 16 to July 20 at the Fort Richmond archaeological dig in Richmond, Old Fort Western in Augusta, and the Maine State Museum in Augusta, and will focus on archaeology and the history of colonial forts in Maine.

Students will study the architecture and functioning of Colonial-era forts in Maine; understand the basics of how to survey and dig at an archaeological site; and practice artifact conservation — cleaning, photographing, storing, cataloging.

Camps offer summer fun

READFIELD — Maranacook Adult Education has announced its summer camp schedule for the summer season.

There are camps for basketball, babysitter training, writing, track, baseball, art, gymnastics, soccer, tennis and more. Camps are available for elementary and middle school students.
