In 2006, my mother, Cheryl Murdoch, was murdered by Shannon Atwood. Only one person was there for me and my family — Colleen Lachowicz. When I first met her, I told her she would get rid of me like every other counselor I had.
But she didn’t. She never gave up on me or my family.
She was there every day for me — at school in Waterville and in the courtroom in Skowhegan. She was the one holding my hand as the guilty verdict was read.
She would never take any credit for something like this, but she does it and not just for me.
I wanted to tell the readers of the Morning Sentinel my story. Please elect Colleen Lachowicz to the state Senate because we all need someone who never gives up on us.
