WATERVILLE — Members of the Army National Guard performed a training exercise Tuesday at the Hathaway mill.

Operations Officer Nehemiah Nattress said the Civic Support Team — a group that mitigates threats from weapons of mass destruction, among other things — responded Tuesday to a training scenario that had them identify an unknown liquid. The team also practiced decontamination procedures.

The group serves all of Maine, Nattress said.
