PORTLAND — Kevin Miller, a reporter for the Bangor Daily News for the past six years, has been hired as Washington bureau chief for MaineToday Media, which includes the Kennebec Journal in Augusta and the Morning Sentinel in Waterville as well as the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram.

Miller joined the Bangor Daily News staff in 2006 and took over the newspaper’s political coverage in 2009. He led the paper’s coverage of Maine’s 2009 referendum on same-sex marriage as well as the 2010 gubernatorial race.
