HEBRON — The Redneck Rodeo Barbecue and Music Fest will be held Friday, June 29, to Sunday, July 1, at 12 Harold Lane. On Monday, June 26, the Rawhide Rodeo Company will leave the New England Wild Wild West Rodeo in Marshfield, Mass., and make their way to Hebron —- with more than 100 head of bucking bulls and wild horses, and a 200- by 100-foot arena loaded into a caravan of trucks — for the first Redneck Rodeo presented by PRCA ProRodeo and 99.9 The Wolf.

According to Harold Brooks, Redneck Rodeo Director, “this is the first sanctioned rodeo in Maine for over 10 years where cowboys and cowgirls from Canada, South America and all over the U.S. will compete in seven rodeo events including: team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronco riding, bareback riding, bull riding, tie roping and barrel racing for up to $30,000 in prize money.” Brooks also stated the rodeo will feature a special guest from the Veteran’s Home in South Paris.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Minot Boy Scouts who will assist with parking and the Jimmy Fund.

Other highlights planned for the weekend are music on Friday night featuring 43 North, Cold Blue Steel and Fire Water Creek; Saturday night featuring the Mallet Brothers, Dirty McCurdy, Denny Breau; and Sunday the Country sounds of Melinda Liberty, and more. There will be food booths and country barbecue, Red Solo Cup Saloon, Country Karaoke, pig scramble, Cow Patty Bingo, fireworks and more.

There will also be two fully sanctioned PRCA Rodeo’s at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30 & Sunday, July 1.

Admission cost $45 for a weekend pass or $20 for day pass per person. Children younger than 12 get in free.

Free camping with a weekend pass is available. Tickets can be purchased at the Village Trading Post in West Minot or online at eventbrite.com.
