FARMINGTON — Hannah Sloane-Barton and friends will perform a vocal recital with Patricia Hayden on piano at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Nordica Auditorium. The event is sponsored by the Arts Institute of Western Maine.
A recent voice major, Sloane-Barton graduated from Bard College. She will perform art songs of Wolf and Brahms, operatic arias by Puccini and Handel, and songs of Purcell and Rorem. Donations will be accepted.
Sloane-Barton attended Mt. Blue High School. Initially a violinist, under the tutelage of Nancy Beacham and Laurie Kennedy, she redirected to voice with the mentorship of Jane Parker. While at Bard College, she participated in recitals and operas, including the graduate workshops that staged large performances of operatic scenes. Notably, she had a solo in Handel’s “Rodelinda.”
