WATERVILLE — Where’s Waldo will be 25 years old this year, and to celebrate, the fellow in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs will visit 20 different local businesses through the month of July.

Those who spot him can win prizes, including buttons, books and more. Appearances will be at The Paragon Shop, 36 Main St.; Selah Tea Cafe, 177 Main St.; The Yardgoods Center, 60 West Concourse; and the Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm St.

Waldo figures will show up in public areas of local establishments. Those who wish to participate can pick up a Find Waldo in Waterville! search list with the names of all the businesses and collect an I Found Waldo at card. Participants who collect cards in 16 or more businesses and turn them in at Children’s Book Cellar will win a Waldo button and an entry for larger prizes will be drawn at a Waldo party Tuesday, July 31. The grand prize is a complete six-volume set of Waldo books.

Those who prefer a shorter version of the hunt can collect the cards from eight businesses and pick up a Waldo button at Children’s Book Cellar.

There is no charge to participate. For more information, call Children’s Book Cellar at 872-4543 or email [email protected].
