WINTHROP — Jada Choate, 14, daughter of Kelle and Tom Choate, of Winthrop, recently completed her eighth-grade year at Winthrop Middle School with absolute perfect attendance for nine years. She has been a high honor student during her academic career.

Jada also was presented the Secretary of State’s 8th Grade Citizenship Award by Rep. Patrick Flood, R-Winthrop, during the recent eighth-grade final assembly.

According to a news release, the citizenship award is presented to students throughout Maine who understand the importance of academic success and who devote time and attention to making meaningful progress. The award also serves to recognize those individuals who take responsibility for their work, and who strive to make contributions in their community.
