Volunteers need for Whatever Festival

AUGUSTA — Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Whatever Family Festival needs 100 volunteers. Day in Capitol Park will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 30. Volunteers will be asked to work 3-4 hour shifts.

LePage, Pingree align on collecting Internet sales taxes

AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage is urging passage of a bill in Congress that would allow states to collect tax on sales over the Internet, but only U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-1st District, is supporting the bill, with the rest of the delegation saying they are not convinced.

OXFORD — A daughter, Dianna Marie Berry, was born at 3:30 p.m. May 8 at Central Maine Medical Center to Paul Berry and Kim Weilbrenner of Oxford. She weighed five pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19 inches in length.

Healthcare Golf Classic set for July 15 & 16

FARMINGTON — Franklin Community Health Network’s annual Healthcare Golf Classic will be a two-day, two-tournament event at the Sugarloaf Golf Club. The tournament will be Sunday, July 15, and Monday, July 16. The beneficiaries will be the Healthy Community Coalition and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center, both provide health services to people in need.
