MADISON — A one-vehicle accident on Lakewood Road on Saturday resulted in injuries for the driver and passenger, according to police.

The pickup truck crash  occurred about 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Lakewood and Foss roads, said Cpl. Joe Mitchell of the Madison Police Department.

The driver, a woman, and her passenger, a man, were both taken to the emergency room of Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan after the accident. Their names were not available. The woman was treated and released.

The passenger, 55, was transferred from Redington-Fairview to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with a back injury, according to police.

He was in stable condition at the time of the transfer, according to Anthony Brunette, a nursing supervisor at Redington-Fairview.

The vehicle, a blue Ford F-150 pickup, was a total loss, according to workers at Charlie and Sons Auto.
Emergency personnel were on the scene about two hours.
