JACKMAN — David and Barbara Boss Powell of East Granby, CT, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kirstin Kweilin Powell, to Ryan Thomas Williams, son of Douglass Williams of Waterford, CT, and Laney and Terry Crawford of Jackman.
Kirstin, a graduate of the University of Vermont, received her master’s degree from SIT Graduate Institute. She is a Program Manager for the Girl Scouts of Maine.
Ryan, a graduate of the University of Maine-Orono, is a Manager of Special Events and Fundraising for the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
Both live in Portland. They met at an ADA Tour de Cure cycling event. Four years later, on bended knee, Ryan proposed while wearing a tuxedo cycling jersey at the finish line of another Tour de Cure ride.
A wedding in Maine is planned for the Fall of 2013.
