Appearing in the St. Michael’s Church Bulletin June 23-24 was the directive “What to Wear for Church.” The following excerpts will be quoted: “Shorts for men or women, bare backs, low cut tops, etc. are not appropriate clothing for those who are coming to worship God. Nor are shirts with rock groups or beer commercials.”

Remarks intended forfuture Winthrop budgets

In the reporting on the June 25 public meeting on the proposed property tax increase included in the town of Winthrop’s municipal budget I was quoted, correctly, as stating that “a little give on the public employees side as well” may be called for in future years’ budget negotiations.
