WAUWATOSA, Wis. — The three people injured during a fatal shooting at a Sikh temple in a Milwaukee suburb are still in critical condition.

Authorities say U.S. Army veteran Wade Michael Page opened fire at the Oak Creek temple Sunday. Six people were killed and three hurt before a police officer killed Page.

Doctors at Froedtert Hospital said during a news conference Monday that Santokh Singh was shot through the stomach and was undergoing a second operation. Singh’s nephew said in a statement his family and the Sikh community is enduring a difficult time.

Oak Creek Police Lt. Brian Murphy was shot eight times as he responded. Dr. Gary Seabrook, the hospital’s surgical services director, says Murphy was hit in a “blaze of gunfire.”

Doctors did not identify the third victim.
