SKOWHEGAN — Ralph and Marjorie Black celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 4, 2012, at a lawn party held at their home in Skowhegan. A delicious luncheon of lobster and Cornish hen was served with blueberry cake made by the Bankery.

Mr. Black and the former Marjorie H. Coburn were married July 4, 1962, by Rev. George E. Whittier in Winthrop.

Mr. Black retired from the Navy after 30 years, attaining the rank of CWO4 Warrant Officer. Mrs. Black held many different jobs as a Navy wife and served in many positions in volunteer organizations.

They have two children, Ralph F. Black II and his partner Lisa Parent of Auburn, and James H. Black and his wife Lisa of Leonardtown, Md.; and five grandchildren, Breanna, Samuel, Dane, Charlie and Lily Black.

Guests attended from Catawba, N.C.; Leonardtown, Md.; Winthrop, Readfield, Madison, Skowhegan, Lewiston, Auburn, Durham, Jay, Fryeburg and Hudson, Maine.
