SACO — Andrew Libby scored on two long touchdowns to lead Thornton Academy to a an opening 44-14 win over Deering  Saturday afternoon at Hill Stadium.

The Golden Trojans, a preseason favorite along with Cheverus, lived up to their billing with an explosive offense and strong defense.

After Deering cut it to 17-7 early in the third quarter, Thornton scored the next 21 points.
