SIDNEY — J. Leo and Dorothy Plourde celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 19, 2012, at a surprise party given by their children at Charlamagne’s in Augusta. A buffet luncheon was served with the cake made by Kennebec Chocolates.
Mr. Plourde and the former Dorothy Lajoie were married July 14, 1962, at St. Augustine’s Church in Augusta by Rev. John J. Curran.
Mrs. Plourde was employed at the Augusta Mental Health Institute.
Mr. Plourde was employed at the Veterans’ Administration at Togus.
The couple have three children, a son, Daniel of Windham, a daughter Jeanne and her husband Lenny St. Pierre of Sidney, and daughter Monique and her husband Tom Dunton of Winslow; and three grandchildren, Lauren St. Pierre, Andrew St. Pierre and Zachary Dunton.
Guests attended from Old Town, Hermon, Dayton, Windham, Augusta, Chelsea, Vassalboro, Hallowell, Phipps-burg, Winslow, Sidney, Winthrop and Belgrade.
