Once again discrimination rears its ugly head in the guise of urging girls to fulfill their utmost potential.
Commendable. Let’s give them a day all their own. As for boys, well, they are just boys and not terribly important.
How as Waterville mayor can Karen Heck anoint only half of her constituency? I suppose if you are a founder of Hardy Girls/Healthy Women and you now have the bully pulpit of mayorship, you can proclaim special days all you want.
If men solely supported boys in any endeavor, we would be called sexist and discriminatory.
Since women are a special interest group, I suppose it is almost requisite to only support girls.
Everyone preaches about a great society where no one notices race, creed or gender, yet no one will give up being considered special.
