SKOWHEGAN — Aidan Calkins had a hat trick to lead the Messalonskee boys soccer team to a 4-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference A win over Skowhegan.
Ryan Erskine had the other goal for Messalonskee (6-4-2). Jarrod Simpson chipped in with two assists. Jonah Webb made two saves.
Sam Wheeler stopped 11 shots for Skowhegan (0-11-1).

Hampden 5, Waterville 4, 2 OT: The Purple Panthers scored three goals in the final nine minutes of regulation to force overtime, only to have the Broncos score in the second overtime for the win in Hampden.
Hampden (6-1-4) led 3-0 at the half on three goals by Dan Good. Tristan Gardner scored in the second half and converted Ben Foster’s throw-in for the game-winner. Zachary Gilpin had three stops for the Broncos.
John Terhune, Kaleb Kane, Tommy Samson, and Michael Olivera each scored for Waterville (5-4-3). Olivera’s goal came with nine seconds left in regulation. Samson had two assists, and goalkeepers Zach Disch and Liam Edwards combined for eight saves.

Carrabec/Madison 1, Spruce Mountain 0: Tyler Reichert chipped a pass to Will Crawford, and Crawford scored with 23 minutes left in the first half to give the hosts the win.
Trent Richardson finished with 12 saves for Carrabec/Madison (4-8-1). Nick Guild stopped 17 shots for Spruce Mountain (7-6-1).

Mt. Abram 1, Dirigo 1: Chad Snowman’s penalty kick with 5:52 left to play lifted Dirigo into a tie in Mountain Valley Conference action in Dixfield. Jay Chenard gave Mt. Abram a 1-0 in the second half on a goal assisted by Noah Rousseau. Tristen Dyer made eight saves in goal for Mt. Abram (7-4-2) while Mike Chow had seven for Dirigo (8-4-1).

Girls soccer

Skowhegan 2, Messalonskee 1: Alyssa Cobb and Kaitlyn Therriault scored to lead the Indians to a KVAC A win over the Eagles in Oakland.
Renee Libby made 15 saves to pick up the win for Skowhegan (2-9-1).
Taylor Lenentine scored the lone goal for Messalonskee (0-12).

Dirigo 1, Mt. Abram 0: Lindsy Crutchfield scored in the second half as the Cougars edged the Roadrunners in Dixfield.
Michelle Morrison assisted on the goal. Natasha Deroche made four saves for Dirigo (8-3-2).
Allie Lopez had six saves for Mt. Abram (6-5-1).

Field hockey

Lawrence 1, Cony 0 OT: Sasha Letourneau scored with one second left in overtime to give the Bulldogs the KVAC A win in Fairfield.
Kapriece Bahms took a hard shot from the top right of the circle which rebounded to Letourneau who put it in the cage. Emily Tozier made two saves for Lawrence (10-3-1).
Kevie Rodrigue stopped 17 shots for Cony (3-8-3).

Waterville 2, Winslow 1: The Purple Panthers earned the victory in Winslow, but likely still missed out on the playoffs.
As of Tuesday night, Waterville (8-6) was still in the 11th spot in Eastern B, where the top nine teams make the postseason.
Jenna Gagnon scored both goals for the Purple Panthers. Her gamew-inner came with 7:48 left in the second half, when she stuffed home her own rebound. Valerie Spaulding had 14 saves.
Mackenzie Winslow had the goal for the Black Raiders (11-3), who missed two penalty strokes as a team. Alexis Lachance made 10 saves.

Mt. View 1, Belfast 1, 2 OT: Mt. View had a 23-4 advantage in shots on goal, but the teams settled on a draw in Belfast.
Belfast (11-1-2) scored with 10:22 left in the first half, as Katrina Lapham set up Kelsey Grass for the goal. Mt. View’s Lauren Richards tied the score with 3:03 remaining in the half. Braley Leadbetter got the assist.
Julia Ward made 22 saves for Belfast. Abbie Charrier had three stops for Mt. View (10-3-1).

Mt. Blue 2, MCI 0: Alyssa Williams and Mikayla Oswald scored goals to lead the Cougars to the KVAC win over Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. Krista McLatchy assisted on Oswald’s goal. Mt. Blue is 8-6-0, MCI is 3-11-0.
