UNITY — Grassroots climate organization 350 Maine will hold its first statewide meeting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Unity College’s student activities building. 350 Maine works in association with 350.org, an international organization that focuses on climate crisis. The number 350 represents parts per million of atmospheric carbon that permits a livable planet.
The meeting will give participants opportunity to expand coalitions to confront climate change, make decisions about vision and policies, prepare for upcoming events and campaigns, build skills and strengthen existing work groups.
Participants need to bring a bag lunch; water will be available to refill containers. Coffee and tea service will be available mid-afternoon.
