Ringel earns recognition

BIDDEFORD — Julia Ringel, freshmen at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, was recently recognized at the annual White Coat Ceremony held in Portland. Students were recognized for their transition from lay students to physicians.

WAYNE, N.J. — A daughter, Layla Anita Shepherd, was born Aug. 30 to Ashley and Bill Shepherd of Wayne, N.J. She weighed six pounds, nine ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches in length.

Library benefits from Day of Caring

WILTON — Five representatives of the Franklin County Retired Educators recently met at the Goodspeed Public Library to make a difference for Wilton families. The group washed windows, cleaned the bathroom, tables, workspaces and almost all the bookshelves. The project involved moving the books, washing and drying the shelves, then replacing the books in the correct order.
