AUGUSTA — A lone robber apparently held up the CVS Pharmacy on Capitol Street about 11 a.m. today before fleeing on foot.

Augusta and Maine State Police and a police K-9  searched the surrounding area looking for a suspect described as a white male about 5-foot-6, wearing dark clothing, a black hooded sweatshirt, black hat and camouflage gloves.

The suspect reportedly headed east from the pharmacy.

Police said no details were available yet.

Less than a month ago, a robber at the Rite-Aid Pharmacy on North Belfast Avenue barricaded himself in the store’s bathroom while allegedly shooting up the drugs he had stolen.

Nineteen-year-old Dylan Karczweski is accused in that robbery and remains behind bars in Kennebec County jail.
