SKOWHEGAN — The Holiday Stroll will kick off Friday with the Parade of Lights through downtown.

Cookie decorating, photos with Santa, sleigh rides and more are planned Saturday and Sunday.

Belgrade’s Christmas Stroll set for Saturday

BELGRADE LAKES — Belgrade’s annual Christmas Stroll is set for Saturday in the village triangle.

A holiday fair and gingerbread house contest is set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Belgrade Community Center for All Seasons. The houses will be judged at 2 p.m.

A cookie walk is set for 2-5 p.m. at Wings Hill Inn.

Santa will light the Christmas tree at 4 p.m. in the village.

The Village Peddler Gift Shop will provide refreshments while participants wait for a horse-drawn wagon ride through the village to Lakepoint Real Estate.

Santa and local artists will be available at the Maine Lakes Resource Center. Children can write and send letters to Santa at Balloons & Things.

Those interested can make s’mores in front of a cozy outdoor fire at Days Store. Music will be provided by Gerry Fotter. An outdoor movie is planned, weather permitting.

Chester Greenwood Day

is Saturday in Farmington

FARMINGTON — Chester Greenwood Day will be celebrated with an 11 a.m. parade Saturday downtown. Lineup begins at 10 a.m. at Mallet School, Quebec Street. Chili and gingerbread house contests will follow at Bangor Savings Bank, Main Street. Chester Greenwood flag raising will follow the parade at the Franklin County Courthouse.

Farmington Historical Society will display Greenwood items at the Titcomb House. Horse and buggy rides are set for noon-1 p.m. An earmuff fashion show will begin at 1 p.m. in Meetinghouse Park. The Polar Bear dip into frigid Clearwater Lake will begin at 3 p.m.

Festival of Trees set for Hinckley Dec. 10-14

HINCKLEY — The 20th Festival of Trees — Good Will-Hinckley will begin Monday, Dec. 10.

Hinckley’s Prescott Hall will be filled with decorated trees featuring unique themes and styles. Tree viewing is open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14.

Down Home Cooking and tree lighting ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner begins at 5:45 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 children 12 and younger, free for children younger than five. For tickets, call 238-4280 or email hhodgkins@gwh.org.
