GARDINER — Downtown Gardiner will celebrate the spirit of the season. Celestial song lead by Mainely Harmony will provide music by the official tree from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Holiday craft fairs will be held at numerous locations throughout the day. The Gardiner Public Library’s annual book sale will be ongoing. Have a Go at Gardiner, an event of the Gardiner Heart and Soul project, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, Pray Street.

Participants can decorate Grinch heart cookies at the Who-liday Bakery in Johnson Hall. There will be a contest for the best Cindy-Lou-Who look-alike. The winner will ride in the holiday parade the following weekend.

The Celebration of Light will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church Episcopal. Participants can purchase a luminary for $10 in honor of a deceased loved one.

Friday evening, Dec. 7, features the annual holiday art walk. During this time, businesses will be offer a candlelight shopping opportunity.

The following morning, a parade, themed “Who’s Your Favorite Who,” will begin 11:30 a.m. Santa will meet with children at Johnson Hall after the parade.
