Maine’s unemployment rate was 7.2 percent in November, down slightly from 7.4 percent in October and little changed from 7.1 percent one year ago.

The numbers are seasonally adjusted. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated 51,300 were unemployed, up 900 over the year.

In Maine, sectors such as health care, education, professional and business services, and leisure and hospitality saw gains in jobs. State and local government job dropped and manufacturing stabilized, according to Glenn Mills, director of economic research at the Maine Department of Labor’s Center for Workforce Research & Information.
