CHARLESTON, S.C. — Air Force Col. Darren E. Hartford recently assumed command of the 437th Airlift Wing at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. He has served in the military for 23 years.
Hartford is a 1985 graduate Skowhegan Area High School and received a bachelor of science degree in 1989 from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. He also earned a master of science in 2002 from Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
Hartford is the son of David and Priscilla Hartford of Smithfield.
