AUGUSTA — A patchwork of pavement passed over by some thousands of vehicles a day on Western Avenue is due for a major reconstruction starting next October and probably not wrapping up until the spring of 2014.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Benjamin Andrew Farnsworth of Vassalboro, Maine, a 2011 graduate of Gardiner Area High School, has graduated from the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. He has attained the rank of airman and is an aircrew survival equipmentman. He is currently stationed at Naval Air Station at Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Wash.
